What happened to those beautiful days when teachers got apples and their good little boys and girls sat and did everything they were supposed to and parents loved the teachers and appreciated them? I love teaching, but I have recently felt discouraged. I have gotten emails from parents, and I have wanted to respond with: Please. Just trust me. I want what's best for your child. I have a degree. I am not giving them this homework to punish you. I am giving it to them to help them. I love your child, I pray for your child's well-being every night. I make sure your child is happy at school, safe from bullying, has fun, learns, gets support from me, from others, receives quality lessons and gets to enjoy learning. SO TRUST ME PLEASE!
Some parents send me kind notes and I love them. So I do need to put in a word for them. I might make a plaque above my door that says, "Trust me. I have a degree."
