Remind me why I don't live in Hawaii again?

Here's the short and sweet details of our trip to Kauai:

Day 1- We went snorkeling and we hiked/explored Shipwreck beach.

Day 2- Erin, Melody and Don went diving, Josh and I went to the beach. Josh bodyboarded the waves and I relaxed on the beach. Then, we drove up Waimea Canyon to beautiful lookout spots.

Day 3- Melody and Don went scuba diving again, Erin, Josh and I went zip lining. It was so much fun! We weren't even very scared.

Day 4- Christmas day! We made pork and pineapple kabobs, watched movies and hung out the beach near our house.

Day 5- Sunday. We went to church in Kekaha, it was an awesome, friendly and happy ward. Us uptight Mormons could learn a lot from the LDS Hawaiians. Then, we went on a drive up and around the island, and even to Napoli coast. It was a 4-5 hour drive ,and some of us were getting pretty hungry and testy...But we saw a cave, and a lighthouse and some beautiful views.

Day 6- Tons of flashfloods! Our helicopter ride got cancelled because of the very cloudy sky. We went souvenir shopping and went to some 100% Kauai made stores. We also got shaved ice, yum~

Day 7- It was raining again, and our kayaking got cancelled! We went to Pono market, shopping and then saw the Hawaiian villages, went down to look and decided to go kayaking and hiking to Secret Falls, in the mud!! We also went to Lydgate Park and snorkeled. :)

Day 8- Our anniversary! We went on a hike in Waimea Canyon. We went out to dinner at Kintara Japenese barbecue. It was amazing! We got teriyaki chicken, filet mignon, vegetables, fish broth, and sushi. They cooked right in front of us and the food was to die for.

Day 9- Last day! We went shopping, we were supposed to go on a helicopter ride but it got cancelled again :( Those clouds just did not cooperate! So we saw True Grit at the movie theatre.

Overall, a great trip!! We were both happy and sad to come back. We are adjusting back into our regular, mundane life. But hey, life is still an adventure.
