Phew. What a day. I thought YESTERDAY was crazy.....I obviously didn't see TODAY coming!
Yesterday, my class surprised me and was able to handle silent reading for 20 minutes on Halloween IN costume! What dedication! We had a fun party, costume contest ,read scary stories and drew haunted house pictures. A really fun day. I went home happy and so proud to have such a well-behaved class.
Well. Then I went to work today. I still love my class, BUT it was a tough day. Half of them had gone to bed after 11 pm and were exhausted. The other half were hyper off candy and brought huge bags in to eat at snack time.
Two kids got sick, one cried, one was OFF THE WALLS hyper, we spent 40 minutes doing spelling because they couldn't calm down enough apparently. I was constantly reminding them of the rules.
And that was all before lunch.
You get the idea.
I have definitely earned my salary today! (and then some!)
I love my job. But the day after Halloween is a bit of a nightmare.
Funny, because I thought now that it is November 1st, the FRIGHTMARES are supposed to be over......
