Dear 16-Year-Old-Me,
Spend less time on your phone, and more time with your family. When you go to college and live far away from them, you will miss them a lot.
Listen to your mom. I know at the time, it doesn't seem like it, but she's actually very wise and really loves you and wants you to be happy.
Don't steady date. It is a waste of time AND emotion. If you do this, you will avoid a WHOLE year of heartache following the inevitable breakup the week of Spring Break your senior year.
Pay a lot more attention to the cute boy in your English class who likes to give you massages sometimes, and who takes you to dinner every so often, gives you hugs, and lets you cry on his shoulder at graduation. He ends up being your husband.
Drive a little bit slower. If you don't, you will get in 5 fender-benders and cause your parents a lot of heartache. You will also avoid getting a ticket on the road your high school is on.
Don't skip school on Senior Skip Day. NOT worth it, and it was dishonest to sneak out in a friend's trunk.
Pay more attention to people that aren't necessarily your best friends. You will discover a lot of amazing people that way, like that girl in your Laurel class who is a little bit odd.
You have an amazing life ahead of you. You will be married to a wonderful person and your best friend. You will get your dream job as a 4th grade teacher and have the best class ever. :)
Love, your 23-year-old self
Amy, I LOVE this. Serving with the young women at church I want to help them understand some of these things so much!!
ReplyDeleteyou're in young womens? I bet you are so awesome at that! :) Keep trying! My young women leaders tried too lol but there are some things you just have to learn the hard way I guess.
ReplyDeleteCute! I love this idea! How great would it be to go back and talk to ourselves, even just to say, "it's gonna be ok"
ReplyDeleteSeriously? You snuck out in someone's trunk? Do Mom and Dad know? I didn't do senior skip day...because I didn't go to my high school my senior year! HA! Every day was senior skip day. ALmost.
ReplyDeletehaha yeah Mom and Dad know.
ReplyDeleteWell for you, Senior skip YEAR was worth it! ;)
