When Things Don't Go Your Way

When kids are throwing fits because their parents say they can't get candy at the store, or won't take them to Seven Peaks on a Sunday, or any other reason, we kind of laugh OR get frustrated and say, "Things can't always go your way".

Well, I feel I am having a grown-up tantrum. Things are NOT going my way this week....

Found out Josh can't graduate in December, but will have to take 5 credits in the winter semester, and he might have to go to PA schools in 2014 instead.

That was a big bummer for me.  I was ready for Josh to be done with school. To spend the whole day Saturday with me instead of studying. To see him every day instead of not for 72 hours before a test. I know it's only 5 credits so it will be better, but still.

Then, we found out we have to leave our apartment, which we love, in a neighborhood we love, in a ward we love.

It's been a pretty disappointing week, all in all.

I am trying to remain positive. I am, really. I always have to remind myself that we don't really learn a lot when things do go our way, we learn more when things don't. And the purpose of us in this life is to grow through trials. I'm just lucky these are my trials. It could be a lot worse.

I'm done with my adult tantrum now. I'm going to go look for apartments.
