Dear Bike Thief,
I hope you had a good day yesterday because we had a pretty terrible one. I was already having a hard time adjusting to our new apartment when Josh comes home from campus to be with me, and instead of cuddling and talking, we panic because both of our $700 bikes are gone. We had them locked up outside and you took them. Of course, you don't care how we feel. You even planned this crime and sawed the lock off!
Well, fortunately for us, as much as we loved our bikes, we love each other more. And we have the gospel of Jesus Christ that comforts us and reminds me of the purpose of our life here. I wish you knew what we knew. Maybe then, you wouldn't steal other people's possessions for your own gain. I am saddened that you have to resort to that to bring you happiness and satisfaction in life.
Fortunately for us, we are feeling better and we have put up signs, contacted the police, the bike shop and Pawn shops. We are all watching for you and our bikes. Even if you never return them to us, we tried. We will never stop trying to fight evil in this world, because we stand by our savior Jesus Christ.
Your crime has opened our eyes. For that, we thank you. We realized what is most important in life. We also realized that though there is good in this world, Satan also has hold of many hearts. I also realized I am grateful to be a teacher, so I can teach children to give, be kind and get an education so that hopefully, no offense, they will not turn out like you.
We are going to be fine. You, my friend, in the eternities however, are not. We will work hard and save to buy bikes again. Because that's what we do when we want something. We don't take it from someone else. Good luck to you. I hope your stealing escapades will end soon so you can live an actually happy life, giving and creating, not taking and destroying.
Love, Amy and Josh
