First Days

Ha. I survived the first week of school! :) I have a big class, and a student that requires extra care. I have been tired because I have been working from 7 am until 6 pm at my school because I feel like I haven't gotten a routine down yet, of planning and grading, and emailing, etc. I had one last year but this year's schedule is different and I have to do things differently with the big class.

TODAY I FINALLY FELT LIKE I GOT THE HANG OF IT!

I was happy with how my evaporation science lesson went--3 experiments! The questions I asked were, "Why do we get thirsty?", "Why did the ice melt?" and "Why did the puddle shrink?" (they all have the same answer).

I loved 2 responses I got to the "Why did we get thirsty?" experiment.
One said, "Because the sun stole our water!"
Another said, "Because the water was sucked right out of us!"

Today was a good day. It reminded me that the rest of the year is NOT like the first 2 weeks. I CAN have a life, have my class get used to procedures and things will go GREAT.
