Well, we went to the parintologist again.
In our case, no news is good news!
Luckily, we did get good news!
BASICALLY....
The baby does have Dandy-Walker Syndrome. But the doctor doesn't seem too concerned. She's more concerned about the baby's size, ambigious genitals and Dandy-Walker Syndrome together.
She DID say there is a possibility the baby will be born and be normal.
She also said there's a possibility there's a genetic disorder.
We're hopeful though!
Other good news:
The baby is growing! Our little Nolan is about 4 pounds. So he is small! BUT he has gained 500 grams in a month, and she said that's good.
His little body is growing too, his body is in the normal range but on the low end. His head is still bigger than his body.
His heart and lungs are working perfectly. He is getting the nutrients he needs!
She also said because it's a boy not a girl, she's not worried about adrenal failure, so the chance of our baby dying after birth, is VERY unlikely now.
She did say....
If anything takes a turn for the worse, she will induce me ASAP.
If Nolan continues to progress as he is, he can stay in there longer. She still wants to induce me at 37 or 39 weeks (still not exactly sure why if he's doing well, but we'll ask on Tuesday).
So, basically...we are going to have a December baby (hopefully NOT a November baby!)! We're really excited to meet him. :)
Good luck with everything. Sending love and prayers. Babies are the best :)
ReplyDelete:) Love you Amy!! You are going to be the best mother!
ReplyDeleteYou just tell him that we will be out of town for Thanksgiving, but here for Christmas -so it is his obligatory duty to not jump the gun! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo, SO awesome!! I can't believe he'll be here in a month! He'll be the most perfect little boy ever :)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful, your optimism is admirable. I imagine there are still hard days, we pray for you and your dear little one. Thank you for your openness through this whole process, it strengthens me to know that though our paths are all different that the peace of the gospel, when relied upon, can bring peace. I'm so excited for you to meet your dear little Nolan (darling name PS), what a tender day that will be. All my love.
