Wise Purpose

Wherefore, the Lord hath commanded me to make these plates have Nolan stay in the NICU for a awise purpose in him, which purpose I know not.

But the Lord aknoweth all things from the beginning; wherefore, he prepareth a way to accomplish all his works among the children of men; for behold, he hath all bpower unto the fulfilling of all his words. And thus it is. Amen.

Well, I do a lot of breast pumping (sorry if that's too much info...) and so I have been reading my scriptures when I pump at 7:30 am. I was reading in Nephi 9 and came across these 2 scriptures. It really touched my heart. I am reminded that Nolan is in the NICU because of a wise purpose. I know he knows when Nolan will come home, and I need to trust in that. It IS hard for someone else to be taking care of your baby most of the day, and for his home to be in the hospital.

BUT we are grateful there are so many loving nurses. We are also grateful they are teaching us so many tips about Nolan and about how to take care of a newborn.

He is now getting half, sometimes more than half of his meals by mouth and we are so hopeful! We are so very blessed.

  1. Hang in there Amy!! Being a NICU mom is hard!!! It's kinda like a roller coaster ride of emotions! My boys spent three and a half weeks in the NICU and I can relate to how discouraging it can be to not just be able to make all of your child's decisions and have that anxious feeling when your not with them. As well as guilt for not being with them every minute! This will all be a distant memory before you know it and your sweet baby will come home soon! It sounds like he is making great progress. It's amazing one day you just show up and your baby has decided that now is the day they eat! And usually if everything else goes well within the week your little man will be home!! Your in my prayers stay strong!!
