Invigorated

You know you have the right job for you when you feel invigorated at work. I have felt that lately! Today we went on a field trip. Lately we have been looking at fossils, making fossils out of plaster, making preserved fossils with hot glue, making mineral replacement fossils with plaster, etc.

I love it.

We also finished a haunted house writing piece that I loved!! All of them were long, detailed and well written. Then, we did pastel pictures. They turned out amazing! Certainly, my students have made their teacher proud.

Here's some pictures of their work:

Some might say that doing hands on activities like we've been done is more work for the teacher. In a way it is. I have to buy materials, get them ready, help them with it. But in another way, it is less work for me. The kids are engaged and so they are self motivated and so I do less of that kind of work. Works out perfect for me. I buy the materials, they do the hard work and consequently the learning.

Isn't that what it's all about?

(Please refrain from singing the Hokey Pokey). ;)
