Gosh I love my job so much.
1) I had a dilemma. We were putting on a play. One student get
the part of the "Imperial Hairdresser". Then, she was on a family trip
for a week. I left another girl be in her place. When the girl came back
from her trip, the other girl was crushed that she wouldn't get to do
the part she had practiced all week.
I had no idea what to do.
Luckily, 9-year-old's tend to be smarter. The girl whose part it was
came up to me and said the other girl could be her assistant in the
play.
I was blown away with her caring of others. I teared up when I told her mom she had a special daughter.
2)
A student told me this week, "Mrs. Hancock, your class is so fun I
don't want to go on summer vacation, I want to stay at school." How
often do you hear that?
Being a teacher is the best.
