Pseudo-Parents

Well, it certainly has been a while since I posted. Josh and I have been babysitting an 8-year-old for 2 days, and we have one more week to go. He's a really good kid, and does his chores, makes his own breakfast, etc without a fuss. He is quiet and can play by himself for a while. Sometimes when you ask him questions, he won't respond. He gets really excited when playing games. It is fun for us to practice being parents. We are learning to take turns going out, so someone is home, and sitting together talking after he goes to sleep. :) I have fed the ducks with him, bought some swim toys, went swimming, went to Zupas, went to the Lorax, went on a bike ride, etc. Today, Josh is going to seven peaks with him! That will be so fun. I am also going to take him to the library today. Also, Thursday was my last day of school!! I miss it, but it's also fun to relax. Next year will be different but I'm sure great too. I will have 36 students all day long, including a student who is autistic. The 3rd grade teachers said they tried giving me really good kids because they knew that having even one autistic student is a lot of work and requires a lot of attention. I had an autistic student last year (2010-2011) and it was tough, but he ended up being one of my favorite students. Well, off to do some laundry and go to gym!
