Well, Josh and I are feeling like we are getting Nolan on a schedule, and he's sleeping pretty well at nights!
Josh and I recorded a eating/sleeping log for Nolan. We noticed patterns of when he was sleepy. So we decided to enforce a schedule based on his natural patterns. He naps now at 9 am, 1 pm and 5 pm and sleeps for about 2-3 hours each time. At 9 pm, we do the bedtime routine, and then he sleeps for 3-5 hours at a time! He has done awesome at going right back to sleep after we feed him at night. It used to be much more drawn out!
We have also tried to make sure during the day he has a sleep-eat-play routine. He has been going to sleep by himself during the day!
I know that he's always growing and changing and we'll need to adapt. But we've tried this schedule for about 3 days and it's worked great!
We have a routine for bathtime, playtime and other things. We have figured out what soothes him: he loves carriers, pacifier, the recording I made for him of me "shhhing" (it is so awesome because he hears my voice and quiets down).
He loves walks and baths.
We love him! We are glad he is getting into a schedule because I go back to work Tuesday, so it helps to have Nolan on a schedule!
Love him.
Pictures....
Schedules are great, makes everything much easier. What a cutie!
ReplyDeleteHe is seriously SO cute! I get all baby hungry every time I read your blog...
ReplyDeleteI hope he is a very good boy and sticks with that schedule! It is so very frustrating when you finally think you've got the hang of it and then they go and change things up on you.
I love how your "engineering minds" decided to map his habits and see if you noticed a pattern. His Hancock grandparents should be proud of that. :) I love the pictures and think he still looks like the cutest little old man! I can't wait to see him in March! Love, Granny
ReplyDeleteWay to go on getting Nolan on such a great routine! That's a great idea to record his sleeping/eating/wake patterns. I wish I had done that earlier with Lincoln!
