Well, life has certainly been busy here!
I started work again on Tuesday.
Let's just say, it was a very long week.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it might be though! I didn't have time to be too sad because I am very busy with my 39 students (yes, I said 39. Pretty outrageous, I know.)
The hardest thing is leaving in the morning.
The best part is coming home.
I have been good about leaving RIGHT at 4, instead of the 4:30, 5, 5:30 I used to leave at. I have still been getting everything done though--I have been having students help me as fast finishers or at recess.
Being a working mom is interesting. You have your foot in two wonderful worlds. I love being at home with my baby, and enjoying every coo, cuddle and kiss. Then, I hand him off to Josh and go to school and I enjoy learning and interacting with my students and coworkers. When I get to be a stay-at-home, I'm sure I will miss the adult interaction and the activities that work my brain every day. But, I will enjoy seeing Nolan more and being a bigger part of his growing up.
I think it's important we do not judge each other, as moms. Some of us work and love it. Some of us work because we have to. Some of us stay at home and love it. Some of us stay at home because we think that's expected of us. Every mom and family has to make those decisions for themselves! I think as long as you, and your baby (and spouse) are happy and feel at peace with your situation, then that is what is best.
Being a working mom is NOT my first choice, and I hope as soon as Josh gets a job (he graduates in April), I will get to stay at home with Nolan.
And now for some adorable pictures.
He is growing up so fast! We love our little Nolan!
You are so great at teaching and "mommying," Amy! I agree with you completely. You do what works for you (or what has to work) and your family and that's no one else's business! Love you to pieces!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures! I love the one of him in the jacket. I admire your for balancing mothering and working. I'm sure you're doing a great job. I can't believe you have 39 students!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is soo cute!! I bet you are TIRED, girl.. I am proud of you for doing what you need to do for your family. Praying Josh gets a job quickly after he graduates & that summer comes super quickly for you! :)
ReplyDeletethat is a big class, you are amazing, I'm sure it is hard balancing mom and work, but I'm happy to see you are balancing it and hopefully the school year passes quickly and you can enjoy spring break and summer
