Diaphragmatic Eventration

I thought I should post this. This is Bennett's condition. They found out he had this on the day we was born, with an x-ray. It is hard to find everyday explanations for this condition, if you google it, you will find a lot of medical papers.

But here is as simple as I can describe it:

It is a congenital birth defect. Can be caused by a traumatic birth. It is when one side of the diaphragm is elevated, and therefore it makes it harder to breathe. Some sources say it is found every 1 in 14,000. Other sources say it is more like 1 in 10,000. Either way, it is not very common. It can come along with syndromes.

We are still learning about it. They haven't been able to identify a syndrome that Bennett has that would cause this. They have done a genetic test, as well as many blood pricks, x-rays and ultrasounds to check out lungs and heart.
