Bennett is almost one month old!
And he is still in the NICU.
This has been one of the most grueling, heart-wrenching things I have ever experienced. And the other experiences that have come close, have also happened this year. Yeah, it's been a year for the birds...But anyway!
He is improving. Just slowly. He still needs oxygen. He is not demonstrating enough stamina for eating yet. He has tried a trial of waking up on his own and eating to see if he can eat enough and hasn't been able to accomplish it. Twice. In 4 days. They told us he was close to coming home AND then he went back to square one. Twice. It was quite the emotional roller coaster and I will be honest that I have spent a good amount of the weekend crying. But I talked to his doctors today and they have a new plan--higher calories, lower amount to help him be more successful in eating on his own in a trial. I am optimistic about this plan!
Here are some pictures of Bennett.

Kelsey came to visit us all the way from DC! Bennett snuggled right up to her. |
 |
"Aunt" Noel came to visit! We love her! |
 |
Melody loved holding and feeding Bennett! |
AND of my other cute son who has been my ray of sunshine in all of this. He makes me get up every day instead of staying in bed, crying and watching Netflix. He makes me take him outside and gets me to laugh. I am truly lucky to have 2 beautiful, brave, miraculous sons.

Aunt Kelsey and Grandma Melody took him swimming! (Granny did too but we don't have a picture of that!) |
 |
He loves the Museum of Natural Curiosity! |
He has had a blast with all of our visitors this month!
 |
Luckily, we got to escape on a much-needed date while Grandma was here. Sushi!!! |
 |
P.S. This is me as a kid. I wonder where Bennett got all of his hair from! |
