Ken, Sheri, Ryan and Jonathan visited too. We had a blast. They loved Bennett and Nolan and Sheri and I had a great parenting talk, haha!
Thanksgiving dinner started out ok. Bennett started to get fussy so I had to hold and rock him and I didn't get to eat Thanksgiving dinner for about 20 minutes until he calmed down. But then, he got fussy again. Throughout the day, he had been developing a bad cough. He had thrown up 2 nights previous. Anyway, we were giving him his inhalers like every 2 hours, and it didn't seem like it was helping. I took him home early, to put him to bed. He cried a lot of the drive home.
On our way home, I called the on-call doctor. He suggested we take Bennett to the ER because he suspected it was pneumonia. We got home, and I brought Bennett in his car seat, laid it on the floor and cried. I didn't want to go to the ER because I was worried we would have to stay at the hospital again. That was so awful. And with Josh's siblings visiting, I did not want to spend Thanksgiving break in the hospital. But I knew Bennett needed to go. Josh finally convinced me. He met me there, and Nate, Nicki and Erin took Nolan home and put him to bed.
We were admitted quickly, and I had the same nurse that we had last time in the ER. We're becoming regulars....NOT a great thing....:) Anyway, they did a chest x-ray, and some nose swap tests, to see if it was RSV, or flu. Those both turned out to be negative. But the chest x-ray showed pneumonia.
Thankfully, it was not severe. She sent us home with antibiotics and told us to check in with our doctor as soon as we could. We were in and out pretty quickly.
So, pneumonia now. After 2 days of antibiotics, he is doing better.
Just another day in the life, right?
