Utah/Colorado Trip 2016

Back in January, when Nolan was still obsessed with dinosaurs, we read a dinosaur book. It mentioned, "Dinosaur National Monument". Nolan was obsessed with that. He asked me if we could go there. I told him maybe in the summer, if Bennett was healthy, we could go. So we finally did last week! We also took it as a chance to visit friends and family in Provo, Salt Lake, and Denver, CO. It was a really fun trip.

Saturday

We drove all 12 hours in one day. Except it took us 14 hours, because of the stops we took. It was a loooooong day. Bennett cried most of the time in the car. We had to put the car window up and down, or give him our bluetooth speaker to hold, or constantly distract him. He wanted to be held and he couldn't sleep. We stayed at our friends house in Orem!

Sunday

We went to our old ward, Town Hall ward, said hi to friends there. Then, we went to dinner at my Uncle Eric's house. It was so fun to see them!

Monday

On the 4th of July, our friend and me participated in the Freedom Run. He ran a 10k, I ran a 5k. I was slow but at least I did it!

My friend from AZ was also up in Utah, she did the 10k also.

Then, we had a BBQ, and our friends did fireworks on their driveway. 

Tuesday

We went and visited our friends from Cascade where I used to teach at! Then, we went to the splash pad and caught up with more friends there. Then, we went to Josh's pseudo-grandparents house to visit. Then, we had a fun dinner with lots of friends from our first ward after we got married.

 Wednesday

We went swimming at the Provo Rec Center in the morning. Josh went to lunch with a friend. Then, we went to Thanksgiving Point to the Museum of Natural Curiousity so we could catch up with gf! 

Thursday

I woke up early and went to the Provo City Center Temple. I was in the basement but it was beautiful! I wish I could have seen more of it. Then, we drove 8 hours to Denver to stay with Josh's childhood friend and family. We stopped by DInosaur National Monument! It was so cool.

Friday

We went to the children museum in Denver! Josh took pictures but I don't have them. Then, we stayed up late, eating Oreos and playing cards with our friends. It was so fun.

Saturday

We went on a short hike in the morning. Then, we said goodbye to our friends. It was really fun to see them! Nolan got along really well with their kids. Which is why he looks like he is going to cry in this picture!

We  drove 7 hours and stayed in ABQ, NM that night at a hotel. Nolan had a little accidentin the pool and made a huge poopy mess in the hotel room. And we discovered they only gave us one towel....So that was an adventure!

Sunday

We drove 7 hours and finally arrived home. I have never been happier to be home!
