Josh's dad was diagnosed with brain cancer 2 years ago. Right before Erin came home from her mission and before Nate and Nicki got married. It was been a long two years. Until the last month, we saw him slowly lose the ability to read, do computer programming, remember words, and even play games. In the last month, he lost his ability to swallow, communicate and walk. It has been a long, hard road. We have treasured our pictures and videos of him. He passed away yesterday, Thursday July 21st.
Don was the kind of person who would sit and talk with you about anything. He always made you feel welcome. He was funny. He loved his children and wife more than anything. He taught his children to be tough while playing games. He loved his grandsons. He sang to Bennett a week before he passed away.
He was surrounded by family when he passed away. He was able to be at home, and without pain.
We all miss him terribly. But we look forward to when we will be reunited.
