My Grandma has had Alzheimers for about 6 years. She didn't seem too different until recently. But when my grandpa died, she started declining. Then, she had to leave her home because she needed someone to take care of her. She ended up at 3 different nursing homes in Utah. :( She was declining quickly so my sisters and I flew to Utah to visit with her.
It was hard because she could barely talk to us. Most of her was gone. But she was still really sweet and loving. She fell asleep during our Thanksgiving dinner. She did say Bekah's pie was good though! We went to her church service. And Michelle played the piano for her. Every resident wanted to hold Ellis...Grandma lit up when she saw him.
