So, we have been "social distancing" for about 2 weeks now.
It is a very scary and uncertain time. Corona virus is a global pandemic, a once in a century event.
Currently, the U.S. is leading the world in corona virus cases. Part of that is our size and increased testing. But it is still a big problem. As a result, many states have issued Shelter-In-Place orders (not ours yet). Our schools are online, not in person until April 10 (probably longer) and we will be quarantined for probably 2 months (maybe longer).
U.S. unemployment rates at a record high. The US Government has issued bail outs at a record high. Restaurants and small businesses are struggling, parents are working from home and trying to have kids learn at home.
Both Nolan and Bennett are doing school at home. Nolan's work is mostly on the computer. It takes about 2.5 hours to do all of it. Bennett, we do an online circle time then projects and writing practice. They have both been adjusting best they can. Nolan likes not going to school but I think he's sad to not have normal life. Extracurriculars like music class and tumbling are all online. We've done youth activities at church online. It's weird not to interact in person with people.
We are still seeing my parents and a couple neighborhood friends and that's it. It's hard. We have no idea how long this will be, what the economy will look like after this. We know America will eventually heal but I think it's a long road ahead.
We have enjoyed the family time though. We were probably too busy before. We are drawing, playing badminton, playing games, etc.
