We went to Williams, AZ to meet up with Josh's brother Nate and Nicki and their kids and Erin. We had a fun time! The house didn't have A/C so it was pretty warm during the day... There are lakes nearby but nothing you can swim in. We did some walks and played games, went to a coffee shop with the girls and watched our kids play. We had a lot of fun.
On August 26, Bennett had a surgery for pharyngeal flap. Many therapists diagnosed him with that years ago. We went into an ENT and they couldn't do anything without a scope. They did one but Bennett was young and cried the whole time. A couple years later, we were encouraged to try again. After the scope, it was confirmed he had velopharangyeal insufficiency, a problem with his soft palate which affects speech. The doctor he recommended then left the state so we found a VPI clinic at Phoenix Children's, 2 hours away. So we made an appointment and got in. Unfortunately, his two surgeries got delayed because of the coronavirus. Finally, they got rescheduled and he got a tonsillectomy then this one. He did so great. Josh went with him to the hospital this time. He was good after a few days! Josh went in to wake him to give medicine and he said, "I'm fine, go away!" He ate lots of ice cream and watched lots of movies.
